【nancy换衣服】英文小贴士：change的正确用法

与客户的会议开到了一半，会议室电灯突然闪了一下，南希决定换会议室：Would you mind changing a meeting room？

Change其实不是这么写的。

这么说会让老外会以为，是要跟人「交换会议室」，或者想要「改变会议室」。例如：

I haven’t changed the room. 我一直没有改变房间（维持原样子）。

We changed seats in the interval. 中间休息时，我们交换了一下座位。

中文里的「换新」，不是change，是get/renew

1. 我换了一个新工作。

错误：I changed a new job.

正确：I got a new job.

2. 他换了一个新女友。

错误：He changed a new girlfriend.

正确：He got a new girlfriend.

3. 我护照过期了，我得要换新的。

错误：My passport has expired. I have to changed it.

正确：My passport has expired. I have to get it renewed.

要换地方、和地点转移相关的，用move比change自然很多。

中文指的「换」算是「移动到别的地方」，所以用move，如：to move to another place/ to move to a new location。

介意我们换一间会议室吗？这里太吵了。

Would you mind us moving to another meeting room? It’s too loud here.

我们有办法换到其他地方吗？

Is there any way we can move to another place?

换车、换房间、换班机可以用Change，但是要加复数名词

I had to change (trains) twice to get there.　到那里我必须换乘两次（火车）。

Change at Taipei Main Station for Banqiao .　在台北车站换车去板桥。

You'll have to change planes at Seattle. 你得在西雅图换乘另一架飞机。

I’d like to change rooms, please. 我想要换房间。
