年轻人从大城市返乡了，省道、乡道、乡村公路上，是奔驰的车辆，是行走的人流。好不热闹。赶集的还是老年人为主力，他们心中清楚，过年需要准备什么。集市上各种春联，姹紫嫣红。阜阳剪纸、亳州剪纸，也走上街头，点缀着年味。

过去年货中有一种是必不可少的，就是烟花爆竹。如今城市倡导文明过年 , 乡下还是爆竹声里一派喜庆。爆竹分好多种，大挂鞭、小挂鞭、大雷子、小雷子、摔炮、小花炮等。大挂鞭是主角，只有年三十吃饺子时燃放，小挂鞭低一级，在破五（正月初五）、十五时燃放，其它都是配角，啥时候都能放。大挂鞭代表一个家庭的实力和影响，越长越响越好，预示着吉祥。摔炮、小花炮是孩子们的玩物，村落里、小巷子，三五孩子 “啪啪”地玩着。

亳州牛集镇有个大杨庄，祖传制炮手艺，炮擀轧磁实，捻子急，百个百响，响声清脆，震耳欲聋，远近闻名。

皖北过大年最看重走亲戚，不论穷富，不论远近，亲戚都要走一遍，一家也不能落下。千里送鹅毛，礼轻情意重。生活困难时，礼品简单，一个竹篮子，装半篮子好面蒸馍、两包馃子、十根油条，能再加两瓶水果罐头算是重礼了。亲戚家如果有长辈，要送大个的白面蒸馍。如今，生活条件好了，礼品也丰富了。

年轻人走四方，平时难得一聚，过年了聚在一起说见闻，叙亲情。古井贡、口子窖，皖北出好酒，皖北人善饮酒。香醇醇的酒味浓郁，红彤彤的脸上笑意飞扬。

过年期间，各种美食更是调尽千般滋味。皖北过年 “面香”是关键，每到大年三十，烙馍、蒸馒头、做花卷、炸馓子，不亦乐乎。炸圆子也时兴，皖北人炸的圆子是绿豆圆子，皖南人喜欢炸肉丸。大年初一早上，皖北许多地方早餐为饺子，讲究的是起早吃。

过了小年，亲戚走得差不多了，大伙开始寻找新鲜事，赶闲集、喝闲酒，听大戏、凑书场。这时候，各地游园活动也开始了。夜晚的阜阳生态园里，灯展流光溢彩、缤纷璀璨，处处欢声笑语。颍州西湖面貌焕然一新，张灯结彩迎接游客。

Drinking fragrant and strong baijiu, people are smiling, faces red. At this time, the park activities begin. At night, the Fuyang eco-park is filled with light, color and laughter. The West Lake in new Yingzhou District is festooned with bright lights to welcome visitors.

春节是岁末的欢闹，是家人的团聚，也是特色民俗活动的集锦。亳州过年热闹的民俗表演是大班会，各个镇子都有表演，演员自发参加，自愿入伙。要说最精彩的，莫过亳州花戏楼广场的表演，每天都有好几个班会轮流出场，施展绝技。表演中，演员自由发挥的空间很大。亳州是武术之乡，随着剧情的演进，会武术的演员拉开架式，挥拳使脚，刀枪剑戟，十八般兵器耍将起来，惊险刺激，热闹非常。锣鼓喧天，彩条飞舞中，踩高跷则在诙谐动作中，引人入胜。

皖北其他地区也是一样，宿州皮影戏生动逼真，泗州戏激昂慷慨，蚌埠花鼓灯精彩纷呈，怀远端公腔和谐悦耳，太和狮子灯惊险热闹，颍州肘阁艳丽惹眼，肘阁抬阁欢乐、奔放，各种精彩活动组成了热闹的民俗风情画卷。

Folk performances have brought infinite joy to the residents and visitors, including walking on the stilts, and some other traditional performances, which are lively, wonderful and full of new year’s atmosphere. In other parts of Northern Anhui, there are many other wonderful non-heritage activities, such as Sizhou Opera, Huagu Lantern, Lion Lantern, elbow pavilion, steamed lantern and so on, which form a lively folk customs picture scroll.
